Azalea is very much a motor child. She has seemed to develop her motor skills far in advance of her verbal skills. We joke a bit that sometimes we're not even sure she says mama or dada appropriately (she does, though, I have a video to prove she calls me dada). So just what will she say? Basically her vocabulary currently consists of 5 words/phrases.... 3 spoken and 2 signed. The spoken words are mama and dada of course, and the newest one (just started today) is... you guessed it, "Kiki!" Mealtime has become a lot more fun because the two signs she will do are her own version of "More," (she usually makes the sign and says something like ba or ma) and "All done." The "all done" is confusing though because sometimes she makes that sign after she has swallowed whatever she was chewing and is ready for more rather than actually being all done. Then I'll take her tray away and she'll sign for "more." Although it's confusing at times it is a lot of fun. We tried to get some video of her today saying "kiki," and doing her signs but she gets camera shy. Hopefully we'll get that soon, so we can share some video clips.
